Las Vegas Wins New Low-Cost, Long-Haul Flights to London

Skift Take

The introduction of a new low-cost, long-haul transatlantic link between Las Vegas and London by Norse Atlantic Airways will challenge the traditional airline model with shorter journey times.

Las Vegas has secured a new low-cost, long-haul transatlantic link connecting the Nevada city with London, set to begin on September 12.

The route will be operated by Norse Atlantic Airways, known for its a la carte fare model where economy passengers pay for additional services like checked bags and inflight meals.

Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport will host Norse Atlantic Airways as the only low-fare carrier flying such a long route from Nevada, with journey times ranging from 10 to 11 hours.

Three Las Vegas to London Options

This development will put added pressure on British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, which currently operate nonstop flights between London Heathrow and Las Vegas.

Norse Atlantic Airways will utilize Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft for its three-times weekly seasonal service between London and Las Vegas, offering competitive fares starting at $205 for basic economy and $805 for premium cabins.

Lucky Number 7?

Las Vegas, known for its casinos and nightlife, has adapted to changing trends like hosting the Super Bowl for the first time last month, resulting in record-high room rates. Norse Atlantic Airways has designated its Las Vegas to London route as Z0777, a nod to the lucky number seven often seen on slot machines in Las Vegas.

Norse Atlantic Airways already serves major U.S. cities like New York, Orlando, and Los Angeles, with additional leisure-focused routes from Europe to the Caribbean and Thailand.
